An Equine Specialist, a mental health professional, and horses work together with clients in all sessions. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a proven experiential form of therapy.  EAP has been compared to other experiential forms of therapy such as play therapy, adventure therapies, and art therapies.

However, EAP has the added element of a unique creature, the horse, who is a master at reading body language, intent, and emotion.  The complete and honest feedback of the horse is the special ingredient that makes EAP so powerful.

A common question in EAP is “what are the horses doing?”  In EAP, clients interact with the horses and then process the interaction with an equine specialist and mental health professional.  Clients receive immediate and honest feedback from the horse, empowering them to learn new behaviors and accomplish their goals both in and outside the arena.

While there is time for clients to reflect on what they learn EAP is not a “talk therapy.”  Instead, the primary feedback is provided by the horse.  The natural behavior and characteristics of horses increase client self-awareness and ultimately lead to changes in behavior.  Equine assisted psychotherapy has been shown to be an effective and brief treatment modality for a variety of presenting issues.

Many centuries ago, Hippocrates, known as the "father of medicine" taught that wholesome, natural food could help restore physical health. Because foods begin to lose essential nutrients and enzymes when heated above 105 degrees F, our staff creates healthy meals using food in its purest form – fresh, certified-organic, and raw. Sunglory Farms meals do not contain nuts or oils to support the detoxification process.

To help you maintain a healthy diet after you leave one of our healing centers, our program includes classes that teach you how to:

• Combine foods to optimize digestion
• Soak and sprout nuts, seeds, and grains
• Ferment foods to improve digestion
• Dehydrate foods to create crackers, pizza crusts, and snacks

Sunglory Farms, offers sprouting packs and cooking tools such as juicers and dehydrators to help you prepare raw food at home. 

Many of our guests attend 3 full  weeks in a row; others come for a weekend, or up to 1 or 2 weeks at a time and complete the 21-day program over multiple visits to Sunglory Farms. Our flexible program allows you to start the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd week of the program on any Friday at our healing center located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country.

When you complete the Equine Assisted Therapy Healing Program classes and activities, you will receive a personalized Sunglory Farms Certificate of Completion at Sunglory Farms Graduate Ceremony. As a Sunglory Farms program graduate, you become a part of a growing community of people dedicated to living healthy, joyful, and spirit-filled lives.

Our state-of-the-art luxury facilities are conveniently located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country. We offer a 12,000 square foot oasis with private or shared quarters for overnight accommodations. We provide private transportation to all Sunglory Farms Equine Assisted Therapy program activities.
